Troop 306 is a unit that ensures that all leaders are trained for their repective positions, both boys and adults. We foster Boy Scout skills in a fun atmosphere, staying true to the outdoor program that BSA is known for, monthly campouts, year round. We use our natural resources in the NE region to the fullest. Please follow the site to see some photos of past trips and see what we have in store for the near future.
Troop 306 begins New Scouts in a Patrol of peers with a Patrol Leader who is now a second year Scout. The patrols are assigned a Troop Guide to assist with the New Scouts path to advancement.
We then have Patrols of more experienced Scouts and the oldest Scouts with advanced rank are part of a Venture Patrol.
The Venture Patrol is able to accomplish more than their younger younger scouts. Some activities which they may look into are scuba, caving, equestrian… Our own Troop does go rock climbing, ice climbing (no leading), white water rafting, canoe trips, bike trips, winter hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing and much more..
Patrol leaders are encouraged to have Patrol activity meetings outside of regular Troop meetings. They also gather to prepare to run instructional sessions for the Troop.
Troop 306 proudly attends Treasure Valley Scout Reservation as we feel it is our home away from home. The program is outstanding, the Staff outgoing, friendly, knowledgable and helpful, and so close to what Scouts miss when they leave, their own beds, and families:) There is a sense of security knowing that although they are on their own in their eyes, they are that close to Mom and Dad.
We are very proud of our Scouts and the Troop 306 program. Contact us or come visit anytime.
